Omnia Represents Albania at the ICJ Advisory Proceedings on Climate Change

Cherie Blair’s law firm, Omnia, was delighted to represent the Government of Albania at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at the start of the hearing in the historic advisory proceedings on States’ obligations in respect of climate change.

Albania’s oral submissions were delivered by Armand Skapi, Secretary General for the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Cherie Blair CBE (Cherie Booth K.C.). Accompanying them were Albania’s Migena Baholli, Sir Daniel Bethlehem KC of Twenty Essex and Omnia’s Adam Smith-Anthony and Lauren Lederle.

Albania highlighted the inequities of the climate crisis, calling for urgent global action. It also emphasised the disproportionate burden faced by developing countries and impacts on certain groups of people, including women and girls.
