Visit to Cox's Bazar Refugee Camp - 12th May 2019
On a recent visit to Bangladesh, Cherie spent a day being shown around the Kutupalong Refugee Camp and its various expansion sites, now home to more than 900,000 displaced persons who were forced to migrate from neighbouring Myanmar due to ethnic and religious persecution. Amongst humanitarian workers from various UN agencies, there is also a group of alumni from the Asian University for Women who are using holistic and rights-based approaches to better serve the needs of the Rohingya refugees and the local community in Cox’s Bazar.
