The foundation works with women in Africa, South Asia and the Middle East to support their efforts to increase their role in their economies and societies. As an active campaigner on equality and human rights issues, she has a special interest in Africa - one her husband and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair shares, having set up a charity called the African Governance Initiative.
