Cherie Blair: Yes, women can have it all -- spaced out over the course of a career

Cherie Blair, founder of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, joins "Viewpoint" host Eliot Spitzer to discuss the challenges facing women in the workforce. Spitzer asks Blair whether she thinks working women can "have it all" -- successful careers and families -- in light of recent statements by International Monetary Fund head Christine Lagarde that women "can't have it all," as well as an Atlantic article by former State Department official Anne-Marie Slaughter saying much the same thing.

"There are times when you can't have it all, in the sense that you can't go full-out on your career and full-out on bringing up young children," Blair says. "But that span is such a small part of a lifetime's career, that I do say that women can have it all, spaced out over that career. And what we need to do to change the whole dynamic is to try and stop making it so that women have to make once-and-for-all choices."
