October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month and as Patron of Breast Cancer Care Cherie attended their annual fashion show recently which features both male and female models who are breast cancer sufferers.
Twenty three women and one man stepped out this year in front of a star-studded audience at the glittering Show at the Grosvenor House Hotel in order to demonstrate that it is possible to regain your confidence and look fantastic after a diagnosis. Guests at the event, which comprised both an afternoon and evening Show, were on their feet to show their support to all of the models on the runway.
The catwalk stars were transformed into stunning models wearing beautiful outfits by high-profile designers. Their hair was created by stylists from Sassoon Salons with make up from celebrity artist Arianne Poole and the team at Estée Lauder. This unique and glamorous event was hosted by Andrea McLean in the afternoon and Gail Porter in the evening.
Guests helped to raise a fantastic total of £400,000 for Breast Cancer Care which will enable the charity to continue providing its unique range of free services for anyone affected by breast cancer across the UK. A fast-paced auction included frantic bidding for a fantastic two week holiday for eight to Tobago in the Caribbean, a round of golf with Darren Clarke and a private dancing lesson with Strictly Come Dancing stars Darren & Lilia. Beverley Craven, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, entertained guests with a brilliant live set, including her smash hit 'Promise Me', before they moved on to the after-show party.
